Pair of Riveters hailed in conference awards

PITTSBURGH (July 29, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riveters SC defender Piper Coffield and midfielder Lola Abraham were selected as USL W League Central Conference Standouts in the league’s conference awards announced this afternoon.

Coffield, 20, captained the Riveters in her second season with the club and helped lead the team to an exceptional defensive record with only seven goals allowed in 12 matches and eight shutouts across both the regular season and playoffs. The center back from Mars, Pa., also added two goals of her own on the season and was whistled for just one foul in her 794 minutes played.

Abraham, 20, topped the team with eight goal contributions — two goals and six assists — and those six assists in only 10 appearances are already the most in the team’s short history. The playmaker from Oakmont, Pa., showed her versatility playing multiple positions in her first season on the field for the Riveters after missing 2025 while recovering from an injury.

After winning back-to-back Great Forest Division titles in their first two seasons, the Riveters have now had three players recognized in the league’s postseason honors with Coffield and Abraham joining Abi Hugh, who was a Second Team All-League selection in 2025. This year’s Riveters finished with a 9-0-1 regular-season record and advanced to the Central Conference Final for the first time.
